New Opportunity for Authors / 100 Happy Days Part 3

NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR AUTHORS: I am bringing author interviews to Write with Fey! I have a list of 25 questions and you can choose up to 10 to answer. I tried to create some different questions than you would normally see for an author interview, so I hope you enjoy them. :)

I only do one guest post a week, usually on Fridays, and I can schedule interviews starting August 22nd to the end of the year.

If you’re interested in doing an author interview for my blog, please email me at ChrysFey(at)yahoo(dot)com and I’ll send you the questions. I’ll be scheduling interviews as the requests come in, so I’ll give you the first available date.

****

In my last IWSG post, I mentioned how I was insecure about my blurb for 30 Seconds. It was an okay blurb but it could’ve been better, and the director of my marketing team agreed with me. She helped me write a new blurb and asked the head of the blurb committee (I didn’t even know there was such a thing!) for approval. And it was APPROVED!

NEW **OFFICIAL** BLURB:

When Officer Blake Herro agreed to go undercover in the Mob, he thought he understood the risks. But he's made mistakes and now an innocent woman has become their target. He's determined to protect her at all costs.

The Mob's death threat turns Dr. Dani Hart's life upside down, but there is one danger she doesn’t anticipate. As she's dodging bullets, she's falling in love with Blake. With danger all around them, will she and Blake survive and have a happy ending, or will the Mob make good on their threat?

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list!

Here are the photos from July for my 100 Happy Days Challenge:

I finished writing all of my blog posts for this year, and as you can see I started my posts for 2015. I even started my A to Z Challenge!
But don't worry, I've only written A and B. ;)

My mom and I played a game of Scrabble and we used all the letters. Okay, so we cheated a little. Our game, our rules! Normally we make bigger words than these but we weren't having much luck with the letters we drew. And my mom put "sex" on the board, not me. ;)

Thank you to everyone who has signed up for my 30 Seconds Blog Tour (Sept. 10th - 30th)!!! I really appreciate your help and support! If you’d like to sign up, go HERE.

QUESTION: What are your August writing and blogging goals?

  1. I like the new blurb! Also, how do I get a job on a blurb committee...? And kudos for starting next year's A to Z already! I actually want to do a theme next year (I didn't this year) so I think about it every now and then, but I certainly am not anywhere near starting yet!

    1. Thank you, Sarah! I have no idea how to get a job on a blurb committee, but it would be a fun job wouldn't it? I have more of a theme for next years A to Z, too. I'm excited about it. :)

  2. I am in awe that you started working on the 2015 A-Z posts already. Good for you! I don't even have a theme yet....

  4. The new blurb works well. And dang girl! You're super on top of stuff. I scramble until the last minute on all of my stuff. :)

Your new interview thing sounds interesting, but I don't know that I'd have interesting answers. I'm quite the boring person in reality.

    1. I'm glad you think my new blurb works, Loni. :) And I don't think your answers would be boring, especially if they are about Cera's Chronicles: This World Bites! You can pick the questions too, so you can pick ones that you really like and want to answer. If you're ever interested, email me. :)

  5. Hi Chrys, I love the new blurb! 30 Seconds is on my TBR list on good reads. I am on blog hiatus this month and it feels great. I am using the time to work on my writing projects...yay. Your blog always inspires me so you'll see me here still while I'm on break. I am taking a social media diet as well. Still doing a little bit but not spending the time as I need it elsewhere. Plus commenting and reading blogs will have to be cut back. Your blog helps me accomplish my goals so thank you! Plus, I'm impressed you've written all of your blog posts for the rest of this year!! Awesome.

    1. Thank you, Lisa! A blog hiatus does sound nice, but I just have too much going on. I don't even know when I'd be able to ever go on a blog hiatus. lol I'm glad that you'll still be stopping by, though. And I'll do my best to inspire you some more. :)

  8. Hi Chyrs
Good luck with everything. I'm working on numerous flash fiction stories to e-pubish. My biggest obstacle is money. $$ to pay for an editor and a book cover artist. So, I've decided to do the art work myself.

  15. Stop! You're making my heart race, Fey. Why don't you find a beach and a book for a while, so I can catch up? :-)

I'll add 30 Seconds to GR!

    1. I did go to the beach this past Sunday. It was for my mom's birthday. :) I've done a lot of blogging writing, but not any writing in my book, so I feel pretty behind on that.

      Thank you!!!

  16. Excellent blurb. Lots of conflict and every word counts—no blather! And congrats on the blog posts. I'm lucky to manage the day before.

Goals? Three chapters of my WIP in the can by the end of August. A table of contents, cover design ideas, and blurb submitted for my short story anthology, and maybe a nap. :)

I love your new blurb. it is very inviting and really makes you want to read the book. I had no idea about a blurb committee either. I'll support your book on Goodreads as well. Wishing you the best. Great post (seriously! Full of interesting info... are you by any chance related to a chap called Alex J. Crawfish?)

Nope, I am not related to a chap named Alex.

I could certainly interview you on my blog. You could simply answer the questions not about a recent book, or I can change them to a WIP for you. Let me know and we can work something out.

I'm glad you like my blurb. :)

  26. Hey Chrys, I love the content of your new blurb but I'm reluctant to say it as it has been approved by the Blurb Committee, but there is a tense problem--it moves between past and present tense. Shouldn't it all be in present? 'When Officer Blake Herro agrees to go undercover in the Mob, he thinks....'

All the best for the tour. I will check my commitments and call back if I can do it.

    Denise

    1. He's already undercover in the Mob when the story starts. That's why that little part is in past tense. Everything else is present because it happens in the story.

      Thank you, Denise.

  27. I love the idea of a blurb committee - it sounds like the most sensible group ever. Now, if only there could be a query committee...

I'm gobsmacked at your post writing, especially getting a start on the A-Z. I tend to wing my posts.
